Finally, I love the idea of the Shadow Dragons and how it brings up a consequence for overusing the Dragon Balls and honestly for what we felt was going to be the last we saw of DBZ in terms of new stories? It was a neat way of tying the Dragon Balls into the plot and at the very least when it comes to the ending of the final episode (which yes I did watch early because I heard good things about it.)? It really feels like a proper send-off for this long-running franchise. I liked the Bebi idea when we first met him and through when we saw that Earth was being taken over by him since it was something we haven't quite seen before and it opened the door for interesting ideas. I also really like the Parapara Brothers for as ridiculous as they were? They were one of the few elements in this series that I saw and was like "Oh Toriyama would TOTALLY do this.". I actually really dug the idea of going into space and basically taking the globetrotting aspect of the original Dragon Ball and blowing it up into an intergalactic quest for that opens up so many doors for interesting plots, characters and of course worlds. At least with the Faulconer Productions score most of the tracks themselves are good music that sound great on their own and in video games where the purpose is to keep adrenaline pumping whereas here? No disrespect to Mark Menza, the dude who created this score but this is just generic nonsense.Īlso again, the ideas presented in GT so far have been really intriguing. Aside from the theme that plays while Goku is going Super Saiyan 4? I don't like ANY of the music from this version. I always experienced the GT story through the video games.Īlso I have to say the music is fantastic though know what I mean by that is that I love the Japanese score, the US music on the other hand is absolute garbage and is very representative of the wrongheaded approach Funimation and Cartoon Network had to dubbing and marketing GT where I guess because the early 2000s were all about rebellion and edgy nu-metal music that GT needed that nonsense in it with generic as hell rock riffs, a new opening theme that was a rap which was so bad that it looped around to being good and it had that Faulconer Productions score problem of never being able to shut the hell up when the mood called for it. When I saw the uncut dub episodes of DBZ when Toonami aired them late at night? That was when my Dragon Ball craze started and later I did wind up watching more of Dragon Ball GT though I don't think I ever finished it. It was a late night and I just had the TV on Cartoon Network and I saw an episode of the Super 17 Saga and because at the time I didn't know what Dragon Ball was and didn't really have an interest in anime? There was a degree of confusion watching this young boy going blonde and later turning into a furry man while fighting a big dude with no eyebrows so I didn't exactly get hooked back then. For a little while afterwards it became known by many to be one of the worst entries in the franchise until we started seeing new Dragon Ball content and suddenly people started looking at the series again and here's a personal fun-fact for you all, Dragon Ball GT was my first exposure to Dragon Ball in general. While vegeta was shown to be able to punch through hakai but showed no new attacks or techniques in the Top.Whether it was because of this or because it managed to ride the hype train DBZ set in motion, regardless GT was a pretty big success in the United States whereas in Japan, it never quite hit the high ratings and levels of love that Toei was hoping for. In the Top goku uses that mine technique and that hexa technique. If you look at their respective fights against broly vegeta used a big bang attack a move he already knows and it's a blast while goku used a new technique which broly copied shortly after it was used and was going to use a new attack on broly. Goku kept trying to learn, get better control, have a better understanding of, and master ui while vegeta tried it once then gave up on learning it. While vegeta decided to be the one to train and get stronger. He decided to learn the mafuba instead of training to get stronger. He's asked master roshi to teach him more techniques. He's shown an interest in wanting to learn techniques. Goku should be allowed to keep some things to himself. Trunks knows the mafuba technique and sb. Krillin even improved it and he's the only person who knows of that technique who did. Krillin, master roshi, yamcha, goten and gohan know the kamehameha.
